Album Notes

Jennifer Rose is a full time professional performing and recording artist touring regularly across the United States and in Europe. She grew up singing and dancing with her family and friends in Berea, Kentucky, and was performing as soon as she could talk.
While earning her BA at Berea College, Jennifer’s involvement with the College’s Concert Choir and Chamber Singers and the Berea College Country Dancers took her to Japan, Denmark and Italy, as well as throughout the United States. Since her graduation in 1992 Jennifer has widened her performance experience to include entertaining at a dude ranch in Colorado, teaching dance at hundreds of schools across the US, and presenting solo concerts in the United States and Europe.
Jennifer’s clear voice and simple accompaniment style along with her professional stage presence and presentation serve to preserve the natural integrity of her Appalachian music and present it as the cultural treasure that it is. Listeners have commented, “I felt as though she were singing just to me,” and, “Jennifer’s voice is as clear as the mountain air.” Audiences leave feeling transported and refreshed, and are always ready to hear when the next concert is scheduled in their area.
Alfredo Escobar is a practicing artist specializing in acrylic and graphite and has been Jennifer’s long-suffering husband for nearly ten years. Alfredo is a member of the Berea Arts Council, a Juried Artist of the Kentucky Guild of Artists and Craftsmen, and a Master Educational Artist with Very Special (VSA) Arts of Kentucky. One of his most recent projects was a 9’x9’ mural in a Kentucky church. Alfredo and Jennifer often speak and exhibit together, and have been guest presenters at many Kentucky and International Arts events.
When they’re not out entertaining or teaching Jennifer and Alfredo stay home with their Jack Russell, Opie, in their country home near Berea. In August of 2001, Jennifer and Alfredo added baby Lydia Eleanor to their little family, and in August of 2003 Isabel Lochiel arrived! Visitors are always welcome in their home, and if you can’t stop by in person, stop by in the virtual world of www.jenniferrose.com!
