Album Notes

Hybrid Acoustic Rock. Often compared to the unique vocal sounds of Stevie Nicks and Natalie Merchant, singer/songwriter Jen Walton is emerging with a new album. Sultry, strong vocal harmonies, emotion driven lyrics and dynamic guitar melodies by bandmate and brother, Evan Walton.

The Waltons have performed at events with many music greats including Cracker (David Lowery, Johnny Hickman), Sophie B. Hawkins, and Bernie Worrell. The new album is the first solo effort for Jen as a songwriter and has resulted in a musical hybrid of sounds offering upbeat pop hits and dark, rainy ballads with emotionally driven lyrics. The band has recorded several of the tracks at Sound of Music Studios with Producer David Lowery (Counting Crows, Carbon Leaf) as well at their local homegrown studio, Sweet Creek Studios. Several of the new songs have been achieving airplay on college stations as well as local FM stations.

Influenced by classics like Ella Fitzgerald and Bing Crosby, rock greats Fleetwood Mac, and modern artists Gwen Stefanie and David Gray, the music is truly a mix.

It doens't get much better than this!!

MAKE ME LOVE YOU: When I first heard Make me Love you- I was stunned- The lyrics and beautiful blend of piano and guitar stopped me in my tracks.. I couldn't help but listen with my full attention- it grabs you and doesn't let go... I am not the only one. When Jen was doing a show, this song had the roar of the crowd come down to silent hum- i watched people who were having conservations stop talking- people that were about to go out and have a smoke- paused to wait for the end of the song) It is hit waiting to happen.. WAITING-I get chills listening to this. When I first heard this song, I was in my office- I couldn't figure out where the music was coming from but I LOVED IT. ( turns out, it was coming from a car stereo outside) Again, I was forced to stop what I was doing to listen- it is haunting. STAY: I guarentee you are going to hear this one on a Movie Soundtrack - Once you hear it, you will know what I mean. Yet again, another song that is so beautifully written, ( lyrics and music) that you are caught by suprise and forced to listen.. This is the essence of great music.. In BETWEEN- One word: SEXY.... Will be heard in clubs and people will be moving to this one for sure... Rested and Ready: This one will get you tapping your feet... just try not to do it!! It is infectious!! A Thousand Tomorrows: This is a crowd pleaser and will get you moving....You will hear it EVERYWHERE YOU GO!!! This is for music lovers, trust me!

What a voice!

I love the lyrics in this album, so relatable, very poetic and beautiful. You can listen from start to finish. Hell of a voice. Would love to hear more of her work. I especially like the way her voice sounds, very mature and beautiful. Sort of reminds you of a Natalie merchant but with better lyrics. What a talent! It is one of my favorites to listen to while cooking and drinking a glass of wine.
