Album Notes

JEN YOUNGS
I was born on Staten Island, NYC and grew up in the 70's & 80's with my mom, dad and brother. My dad is the actor John Savage (The Deer Hunter). He worked a lot on location so we spent our childhood in amazing places like the Hungarian plains, Africa, Finland, cool places and sound stages in Europe, NYC and LA. my home base was Malibu from 3 to10 years and Cape Cod Ma. from 10 to 21.

I went to Art school in Boston until my dad brought me to Rome to be in Francis Ford Coppalas film the God Father III. I did 2 more movies over-seas, Nights of Fear in Russia and Mountain of Diamonds in Malta and went back to the Cape, found Tana (my wolf dog) and drove cross country to pursue my love of music and acting in L.A. Eventually I landed a role on NBC Televisions D.R. Quinn Medicine Woman for 4 seasons as the Swedish immigrant “Ingrid”. All the while and writing songs and playing the House of Blues, The Roxy, The Whiskey, etc., with my band “WHAT’S THE BOB”.

In 1996 I was bit by a rabid wolf and died off the show so I decided to put all my energy into my music and made a recording of “What’s the Bob”, then made “MOBIUS” a concept cd about reincarnation that was performed with actors and props, a Rock Album called “Jennifer Savage” of which two songs “Daze of Confusion” and “Not my Dream” were part of a film package, then moved back east and made two Demo cd’s “Only Human” and “I like to watch TV” and a cd with a band in NY “Let me go there”. All the cd’s were released independently on InterGalacticPlastiCo. And CDBABY.COM.

I am now on the west coast and have been acting and gigging between LA and Seattle.

Jen Youngs sound is liquid poetry.

Jen's hauntingly beautiful voice will tug at your heartstrings. This collection of songs, tinged in equal measure with both sadness and hope, sunlight and shadow, grabs you and won't let go. It's the perfect companion for an introspective day.

Some time ago I met Jennifer on Cape Cod at the pottery gallery she works at on Cape Cod. It was her CD playing over the airways that captivated me. I have been listening to it ever since! She's a great poet and musician. This is a "must have" for your collection.
