Album Notes

JEREMY MOSES CURTIS: Jeremy has played bass etc. with Twinemen, Howie Day, Bow Thayer, Dave Alvin, Bill Morissey, Jabe Beyer, Andrea Gillis, Tim Gearan, and many others. Taking some time off, Jeremy put some effort into recording some songs that he had penned over the past few years. Billy Conway (Morphine, Twinemen, Treat Her Right,Hi N Dry) was called into "shepard" the project and engineered a large part of the album. Jeremy played guitar for most of the record and saved the bass duty to fellow session ace Andrew Mazzone. The record was recorded in late 2005 and early 2006 in both Cambridge, MA and Athens, VT. The songs are a collection of images and lyrics all based on true stories and experiences that is reflected in the brisk honesty of his voice. Jeremy is currently touring with Bow Thayer as a member of Perfect Trainwreck in support of the record Spend It All featuring Levon Helm and has also finished another record with Twinemen called Twinetime.

"Mining the best corners of American music Jeremy Moses Curtis' self-titled release (Hi-N-Dry) is a road map. There are stops on country roads, back porches, rock clubs and smoky jazz rooms, but the ride is smooth, not disjointed. Ultimately, wherever Curtis takes us, we want to buy him a beer and hear his stories."

Jeremy Moses Curtis has stepped out of his long-time sideman's role with a solo debut that's sonically daring and lyrically revealing — a surprising, evocative and timeless recording that defies category while embracing the deepest, strongest roots of great American music.

raw, gritty, and true. this album ia a moody score. this is good! it is an impressive combination of alt country with his own style . it is strong, ambitious, and a true collection. influences such as tom waits and john prine are heard with a lil jay farrar.... this is the album of someone who has walked in the shoes of a man that knows music!
