Album Notes

After contributing to Frank Felix’s highly acclaimed “Tales from the Funky Underground” alongside renowned saxophone player Snake Davis and former Prince sideman Eddie M, as well as working with some of the biggest names in British Jazz, it might be expected that multi instrumentalist Jeremy Platt would have produced something similar for his solo release.
Instead he went away and wrote 9 songs about happiness and loss and recorded them by endlessly multitracking vocal harmonies and playing drums in a shed.

The result is (Something About) Blue Skies, a melting pot of pop, soul and funk, which moves effortlessly across genres.
Full of beautiful vocal harmonies and musicianship, the album bears the influence of artists as diverse as Steve Wonder, the Isley Brothers and Horace Andy whilst moving effortlessly across genres.

Here's a review from Musician. magazine in the UK.

"Multi instrumentalist and smooth singer Jeremy is a cool, relaxed and classy performer whose harmonies and playing are packed with flecks of Marvin Gaye and the tasteful Isley Brothers. Infectious, optimistic and simply soulful, this is a sound for balmy summer days and passionate evenings, when just stretching back and casting off the cares of the world is all that matters. Fabulous."
