Jeremy Stein Cushman performs internationally as a violin soloist, with concerts in England, Scotland, Spain, Switzerland, France, Israel, Argentina, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and throughout the United States. He has made over a dozen television appearances, including on the CBS Early Show, and performed in venues as diverse as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall, the White House, the United Nations, Madison Square Garden, and the Superdome of New Orleans. Jeremy made his solo orchestral debut at the age of eight and, by the age of sixteen, had been featured as a soloist on over thirty occasions with orchestras throughout the country, including the Scottsdale Symphony Orchestra (consecutive seasons), the Riverside Orchestra, the Great Neck Philharmonic, the Queens Symphony Orchestra, the Richmond County Orchestra, the Rudi Scheidt Chamber Orchestra of Memphis, the Queensborough Orchestra, the Nassau Pops Symphony Orchestra (multiple seasons), and many more. In 2007, he was selected as a Belz-Parker Ascending Artist and was thus presented in a concert that showcased his vast repertoire of diverse musical styles and inspired the release of this CD.
Earlier this year, Jeremy was named the 2008 Discovery Artist when he won the annual Discovery Competition of the COS Young Symphonic Ensemble. That honor earned him a main stage Carnegie Hall solo appearance with the orchestra, critical acclaim for his performance in the New York Times, and a presentation on WQXR’s Young Artists Showcase. Other past highlights have included: winning the top prizes of the American Fine Arts Festival young performers’ competition, the New York City talent competition and the CBS/FAO Schwartz international talent search; playing his own arrangement of the National Anthem for 40,000 people at a Cubs Game at Wrigley Field; performing as Microsoft’s Symbol of Potential at its annual convention in the New Orleans Superdome for 14,000 attendees and again at its convention in Seattle’s Safeco Field; giving three center court halftime performances at Madison Square Garden as a winner of the Knicks Kids Talent Search; giving the opening performance of a L’Oreal Paris convention; and multiple collaborations with the Tarumi Violinists, including a CD of international music that is on sale at the United Nations and features Jeremy in four solo tracks.
