Quiet, clever, and sarcastic. Jerin Falkner is a 23-year-old folk-rock singer with a passion for songwriting. Her talent and calm charisma have struck a chord with people all over the Northwest, and she is most often compared to Jewel and Fiona Apple.
After releasing her first, self-titled demo in 2002, Jerin recorded a solo-acoustic EP (Alive) in the summer of 2004. Currently, she is preparing to release her first fully produced album, Almost Completely Happy, in the fall of 2006.
Jerin has been fortunate enough to share the stage with performers such as Alice Stewart, Summer Mayne, Late Tuesday, Susan Robkin and Sittser. She has been influenced by musicians such as Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Jason Mraz, Damien Rice, the Beatles, Diana Krall, David Gray, and Counting Crows.

Good EP, wish it were longer!

Failker's voice is so charming and pleasant. It adds just enough to the music without taking anything away. She's got a way of using her voice to get the feelings across even if you don't listen to the lyrics. But at the same time, her voice is so clear you have no trouble picking out the words.
The melodies are instantly likeable and after just a few listens they feel like old friends.

Jerin Falkner's new CD "Almost Completely Happy"

This CD is a delight to hear. Jerin has included the song lyrics with the CD and it's nice to read them in her own handwriting as she sings each song. The words convey various highly personal and heartfelt thoughts, and her expressive voice further communicates what she was thinking. For example, the last song, "Ghost" deals with a person who seems to be present, yet he seems ghostlike in his emotional absence. This new release is a change from "Alive" in that Jerin has included more background accompaniment. Also, the pace is slower than "Alive" which enables the emotions to really come through. I highly recommend this CD.
