JERRY DRAKE, musician and educator, is a native and resident New yorker. He attended De Paul University in Chicago where he earned a Masters degree in music. For over twenty years he has been leading a band that became THE FRONT PAGE BIG BAND. In 1998, they released A TRIBUTE TO THE BIG BANDS, a collection of original songs written and arranged by Jerry in the style of Big Band swing.TRIBUTE has been digitally remixed and remastered for re-release and is available now.2005 also see the release of their second CD, a ballroom dancer's trip through the tropics called LATIN LATTITUDES and Jerry's aptly named first solo effort SONGS FROM MY HEART. All feature Jerry's original compositions,arrangements and performances on Trumpet, Trombone, Flugelhorn, Organ, Piano and lead vocals. At the present time Jerry is working on two CDs to be released later this year tentatively titled SWING AGAIN,A TRIBUTE TO THE BIG BANDS-PART TWO and MORE SONGS FROM THE HEART.
