I'd Rather Be having Sax

There is a guy that is in the Guinness book of Worlds records who went FROM Los Angeles TO Las Vegas ( Aproximately 280 MILES) No HANDS on a motorcycle. Its just like Jerry's approach to the blues. "From the hip", " Double agent sax", " Don't funk around", "Torture". He has the best that melody has to offer- and a whole lotta soul going for him, but he can still articulate. These tracks leave you remembering the good old days. This record bears testimony to his ability to ride his instrument. In world of cliché and funk gunslinging, he sets his bag apart from the politically ( currently popular) & correct, and risks it all / with his eyes closed and his heart open. "Closer", "Caring". We peek into his world, it is cool, but still funky- it is refreshing to know we are not alone- we'd prefer sax too!

Jerry Peterson has been around the block and he managed to bring his bag with him. In a world where great sidemen fall by the boneyard, (after giving their best licks to stars and the construction of Gold records), he has taken the task of the unthinkable to a new reality. He'd rather be playing his saxophone. ( Period.) But this time he is doing it his way, with his themes and his soul. Jerry pays his dues in bands, produces and adds his magic to artist's sessions ( *see bio), but his best contribution may as yet lie in his own compositions and construction of HIS music. It becomes clearer to us that making this record involved a lot of soul and heart felt experience, and it is OBVIOUS that he remains a man true to his instrument. Great tunes. Cool licks.
