ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The much anticipated first time LP by the soulful little jam band that sticks to your ribs. Pure jam is intertwined throughout their album, Movin' On, but really it offers such a diverse blend of styles. With two songwriters, husband and wife, Cameron and Kendra Matthews that write so differently, their world of words and musicality seem to collide so peacefully. After a relatively short amount of total studio time-roughly two weeks, what came out was a lively, colorful, bluesy and rustic blend of music that is full of heart, hope and faith.

Jerry’s Bones is a four piece jam band with a spiritual vibe from Claremont, NC. They formed in 2008, with strong roots in classic rock, blues and folk. Bob Dylan, Phish, Eric Clapton, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Robben Ford, Santana, Fleetwood Mac, Neil Young and Ray Lamontagne are some of the bands and artists that have influenced their musical wanderings and explorations. Their original material takes the listener to a spiritual place while at the same time leaving audiences satisfied that they have seen one of the most original and entertaining live shows ever performed. Every performance is filled with raw jams, funky beats, blues driven solos, and unique melodies that ring sweetly throughout the atmosphere of every venue. It is transparent to all that friendship, love, truth and freedom are at the nucleus of every song played.
Their first single, “One True Home” showcases co-founder and Singer/Songwriter Kendra Matthews in a vocal performance that can only be described as emotional and ethereal. “One True Home” has received radio airplay at several radio stations in the Southeast. The band’s eclectic repertoire, pure soul, and lively vocals play a major part in their growing fanbase.
As Jerry’s Bones travels around, everyone can agree that Guitarist, Singer/Songwriter and co-founder Cameron Matthews is one of the Southeast’s leading guitarists. His blend of sweltering southern rock and blues riffs coupled with his bold and versatile vocal styling fused with Kendra’s grooving rhythms and haunting vocals make them the region’s premier tandem of both musical talent and songwriting ability. With the addition of Ed Williams on drums and Elliot Noto on bass, Jerry’s Bones’ rhythm section lays down a fearless foundation of groove oriented skill and meticulous versatility that leaves audiences swaying to the beat with a smile that can’t be erased.
“For those who are familiar with their music, you probably already know what an interesting “funk-groove” and spiritual vibe Jerry’s Bones brings to the local music scene.” - Charlotte Music Examiner. The band is planning on hitting the studio in early 2013 to lay down their first full length album and is currently touring the southeast.

"Jerry’s Bones is an impressive, four-piece jam band with a soulful and groovy style. The group was founded by Cameron and Kendra Matthews in 2008. This amazingly talented husband-and-wife duo are musically accompanied by Edward Williams on drums and by Elliott Noto on bass guitar. The group has a strong and loyal fan base and is blessed with a strong, family-oriented support system, which includes the merchandising and sound production efforts of Sandra Williams and “JW” Williams. The group continues to take Charlotte’s music scene by storm with numerous local appearances and an anticipated debut album release, which includes increased interest from various music labels. Considering this group’s impressive work ethic and its spot-on, “funk-groove” style, there’s a strong feeling among Charlotte’s music scene that suggests Jerry’s Bones’ Grammy worthiness is bound to land the group on North Carolina’s—once again—map of proven, musical fame. -CBS Local Charlotte
