Album Notes

"For easy listening from a master at creating the right mood, I strongly recommend "Jerry Scott...By Special Request."

This eclectic album of songs, given Scott's trademark flourishes, shows why he is one of the best and most popular in the business. In addition to gentle versions of standards such as "My Foolish Heart" and "The Nearness of You," Scott delivers lesser-known gems with the essence of a soulful troubadour. For instance, the Rod McKuen rarity "I'll Catch the Sun" is worth it's weight in solid gold.

Scott's profound reading of this uplifting ballad, juxtaposed with classical themes, is riviting. He is also the first person to record Peter Allen's optimistic "Making Every Moment Count" after the late entertainer himself. It's easy to see why Jerry Scott remains one of our town's most in demand entertainers. His album is a perfect example of a performer who doesn't compromise and remains true to himself."

---------------

An evening with Jerry Scott is unpredictable, shifting from the most subtle and intimate, to a party in full swing. His repertoire consists of over 2000 songs ranging from Porter, Gershwin, Broadway, and the standards to contemporary hits.

After attending The Eastman School of Music in Rochester New York, Jerry settled in New York City. He has performed locally at the Regency Hotel, Waverly/Waverly, Nickels Steak House, and Tatou, to name just a few. He has also appeared at Harrah's Marina Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, as well as various ports in the Caribbean, Europe, and Russia. He performed for Hillary Clinton at a fundraiser, and was then invited to perform for President Clinton two weeks later.

Jerry has received multiple MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabarets) Awards for Best Piano-Bar performer and the Backstage Bistro Award in the same category. He also received the Critics' Choice Lifetime Achievement Award for Excellence in Piano-Bar performance. Jerry recently completed his fifth album, "Jerry Scott...With A Little Help From My Friends," which will soon be available at CDBaby.
