Jes Hudak's Tiny dream a landmark album!
author: Tobias
Jes Hudak's first album In there Somewhere struck a chord with me thanks to the songs How in love and If you saw you like I do But she came back in 2002 with one of the best albums I own her landmark Tiny Dream I can remember Two Bodies first hearing it in August of 2001 and it was a song that clicked same with It scares me Tiny Dream and current hit Cry are all reasons this album scores across the board. It is one of the best albums of 2002. I love how she is so honest and writes songs for different moods. Lucky One leans more upbeat. Cry sounds a little bit angry. It scares me is a good depressing song. Two Bodies a relationship song. Tiny Dream one of my favorites with the bass adds a different element. I can't wait for the next album I'm sure it will be successful.

That grrl got soul!

Happy in love? It can relate. Bitter about an ugly breakup? It’s in there. A complete CD that fulfills all emotions and fills your head with melodies that don’t escape you… Jes Hudak's CD "Tiny Dream" is 13 tracks (+ 2 hidden tracks) of mostly solo piano with some accompaniment of upright bass and guitar. Hudak has an impressive vocal range, from a beautiful soprano to a sensuous alto (“When Its Spring”, “Sincerity”), from a powerful forte (“Cry”) to a mellow piano (“Sometimes”). The effort of doing multiple harmonies on several tracks pays off in a beautifully balanced sound. Nearest non-independent artist comparison I’d say is Fiona Apple, because of the passion in her voice. Jes Hudak has realism in her lyrics that you can immediately relate to, combined with a melodic piano to form a mature album that you’ll fall in love with.
My introduction to Jes was at a local venue in upstate NY, and I was completely blown away by the maturity and *soul* of her voice... an instant fan!
I highly recommend this CD to anyone who appreciates the sincerity and hard work of independent women artists whose love of music obviously comes through in their performance!
