Great rock songs with pop appeal and a gritty, soulful edge.
Jesse Brewster writes and plays songs that have emotional power and musical chops. With music spanning a diverse mix of genres, from alternative and straight ahead rock to R&B/funk to blues, the band delivers an outstanding live performance punctuated by the solid and refreshing songwriting and voice of Jesse Brewster. Anything in between Foo Fighters and Incubus to John Mayer and Jeff Buckley, Radiohead to Tom Petty, to Stevie Ray Vaughn and Bonnie Raitt. "There are no boundaries in this project as far as the kind of influences you hear from song to song", says Brewster. "If the song has a solid hook and/or an original feel, we'll throw it into the set–period." This is evident in the fans of the band, that range greatly in age and musical interest. "We want to appeal to the younger audience with original and catchy alt-pop songs, yet get the respect of the veterans with our diversity of styles and individual instrumental skills", says drummer Ryan Low. The band also features long time local favorite lead guitarist, James Deprato, as well as jazz and funk bassist Angeline Saris. About the band Brewster continues: "I put these particular players into the lineup because each of them has such a wealth of experience; both on tour and in the studio. To top it all off, we're all close friends, which I think the crowd picks up on and appreciates the chemistry." Jesse's first album, Confessional (2005), is a benefit CD for PKD, a hereditary kidney disease that has affected Jesse and other family members. He hopes both records will raise awareness of this disease (which affects more than 600,000 Americans) and hopefully lead to a cure.
