Album Notes

Jesse Campbell

Jesse Campbell was born in Chicago, Illinois. At age 16, Jesse began singing and soon after began traveling the country with his father, Pastor W.J. Campbell. Jesse was a featured soloist on the early recordings of the Winans and Timothy Wright. In 1994, Jesse signed a recording contract with Underworld/Capitol Records. During this time, he recorded and released his first hit single, When You Cry, I Cry, from his debut album, Never Let You Go. He also recorded the smash hit, Where Is The Love, from the movie soundtrack Dead Presidents, which sold over 500,000 copies. Jesse has made many personal appearances and live performances on national television shows including, Showtime at the Apollo, Video Soul and Soul Train. During that time, in spite of being offered lucrative, secular recording contracts and opportunities to work with the hottest, most successful producers and executives, Jesse chose to give up the world and all it had to offer for the sake of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Since then, God has placed the mandate of Psalmodist (One who sings Hymns) on Jesse’s life; thus, the birth of Hymns from the Heart Vol. 1 CD, currently available via jessecampbell.com. As a result of his renewed commitment, he was a featured soloist on the soundtrack of Stephen Spielberg’s film, Prince of Egypt, the soundtrack of Bishop T.D. Jakes’ The Lady, Her Lover, and Her Lord, The Potters House Choir first and third recordings, and Ron Winans Family and Friends 5. Jesse made his debut movie performance in the film Not Easily Broken, staring Morris Chestnut. Jesse believes that a CD to a recording artist is as a canvas to a painter, thus, enabling the artist to freely depict who they are, what they believe and how they view life. Jesse’s latest CD release is entitled “Sessions” A Musical Compilation of Songs.” It consists of songs reflecting his evolutionary, spiritual life experiences such as: dating, marriage and divorce with accompanying music tracks that would fit into any urban / popular radio station’s rotation. Jesse is one of today’s most gifted singers, whose captivating vocals commands attention from the very first note. Sense 1996, Jesse has been hired to prepare Millions of hearts and congregations world-wide, to receive many great speakers such as: Joyce Myers, Benny Hinn, Prophetess Juanita Bynum, Bishop T.D Jakes, Kenneth Ulmer, Noel Jones, Dr. Creflo Dollar and many others. With Jesse’s God given gifts and pure heart, and having a life mission to serve, he is predestined for greatness.
