Album Notes

Seattle artist Jessica Star Rockers is a blue-collar princess with the Midwestern roots to prove it. Her debut album, Beloved On Earth, uses raw guitar chords to back Neko Case-inspired vocals. Her acoustic indie folk is influenced by the sweet melancholy of the Pacific Northwest, with intensely raw and intimate lyrics backed by stark harmonies.

\"There’s a real sense of the rainy Pacific Northwest... of claustrophobia and malaise, that confusion sometimes reigns in the best of situations. This is never overdone or self-pitying... just a recognition of everyday driftless feelings, made compelling by Rockers’ sweet, unaffected vocals.\"
- IndieFolkForever.com

\"The nine songs sit cross-legged between yesterday\'s folk and today\'s indie rock, all plaintive strums and contemplative musings awash in cavernous reverb.\" -Bainbridge Review.

\"Imagine Cat Power making \'Exile in Guyville\' with a little advice from The Roches.\" -iTunes.

\"Folky and surreal. That is how I best describe Jessica Star Rockers. I feel like I’m sitting two feet away just kicking back and lounging while she plays her music for me.\"
- Madalyn Sklar, GoGirls Music
