Unlimited by Jessica Tivens is a collection of vocal styles that showcases this young artist’s unbelievable range as a singer. This young diva shows us why she is truly one of the greatest singers of our time with the collection of songs she has chosen for this CD titled appropriately enough UNLIMITED! This CD was produced by renowned pianist Mike Garson, who also adds his piano to five of the tracks on this CD. This isn’t the first time that Garson and Tivens have teamed up to recorded together. The first time was back in 1995, when Jessica was just 14 and Mike invited her to add her voice to his CD “Screen Themes 1995.” The two also began work on an opera titled Magic Spell of which the title song from that opera appears on this CD. Garson shows off his composition talents with a special adaptation of Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata. Tivens voice adds an angelic quality to this masterful blending of old and new to create a very special musical fusion of these two different but unique artists. This CD finds some old favorites with a fresh new twist to them; Summertime, the Gershwin favorite from Porgy and Bess and Something Wonderful from the Broadway musical King and I; are but two examples of how old songs can be made fresh and new again. The four opera aria’s on this CD are as diverse as one would ever find; from Mozart’s, Marriage of Figaro to Richard Strauss’s Ariadne auf Naxos; Tivens provides the listener with emotion and passion that only a seasoned Opera Dive can deliver. In the end, Unlimited delivers total satisfaction of musical and singing ability to the listener.
