Album Notes

Jessie Rae's 2004 release "Out of the Blue" is the
latest since the 2002 demo release of "The Originals" and the 2000 release of "A Tribute to Jill."
The Jessie Rae Band has been described as performing "roots pop with a blues edge and a funky swagger" and "funky folk pop." Their music blends sophisticated blues, pop, reggae and R&B. The band also has a knack for performing a mellow, acoustic sound that incorporates jazz, folk and rock.
The band is named after Joan Meyer's grandmother (Jessie) and her sister's middle name (Rae). Joan is the leader and songwriter for the band, and brings a soulful, edgy groove to the Jessie Rae sound.
This CD features some of Portland's best talent
including Lauren Semler and Jim Bronson on guitar, Wendy Owens on backup vocals and percussion, Matt Burnett on keyboards, Phil Hornik on bass, Kipp Crawford on drums, Clif Koufman on congas and Donna Rae on backup vocals.
Jessie Rae has the flexibility to perform as an acoustic guitar duo or as a 6-member dance group.
