Album Notes

Georgie Jessup & Big Love recorded Working Class Hero between May 21st and May 24th in 2007. For the most part this is a live recording intended to document the arrangements of seven songs. Petie's Song...and Find Some Love are two new Jessup songs that until now have not been available on commercial CDs. The title cut, Working Class Hero, is of course by John Lennon. I think you will find this version to be among one of the best and i certainly believe John himself would have loved it!

The other five songs are new versions of old songs Georgie recorded on American Holocaust. It Takes Nothing almost qualifies as a brand new song in this version. Arron Yealdhall's second lead vocal on the chorus makes this a very current song even though Georgie wrote it a while back! With Justin (the Wimp) Crown providing a driving bass line and Jonathan Malfi laying down a steady and agressive drum groove, Where The Buffalo Roam finally has the energy that Georgie always wanted. Fools Crow has a new bridge that pays a more exact tribute to the memory of Grandpa Fools Crow than does the orginal version. The outro is a lot different as well. Hoka Hey (Tribute to A.I.M.) is certainly the best version Georgie has ever recorded of this song! Just listen to Justin, Jonathan, and Arron sing the "get up, stand up" part of the chorus and Georgie add lines like "Life is your RIGHT!" Find Some Love with it's Allen Toussaint/ New Orlenes influenced piano intro only gets better with the Wimps funky, funky bass lines!

Georgie's passion never lets up on this seven song EP. I know old and new fans alike with enjoy Working Class Hero!
