Album Notes

Over five years ago, John (Lead Guitar) and Mark (Lead Vocals and Guitar) started "J for Jules" on the principle that musicians get the girls. "I was saving up for a sports car, when I figured out a guitar was cheaper," said Mark. The current composition of the band was formed when Dave (Drums) and Walter (Bass Guitar) said they wanted in on the deal. "But it's not just all about the girls," added John "it indulges my need to feel cool and sometimes wear shiny clothes."

The Music of "J for Jules" has been described as a mixture of John Lennon meets straight-ahead Midwest Rock. It's Rock, with smart lyrics, and an occasional Pop hook. Influences include, but aren't limited to, the Beatles (of course), The Replacements, Nirvana, The Pixies, Cheap Trick, Aimee Mann, Wilco, Soul Asylum, and the Jayhawks.
