John Foley's Radar Rangers first came together to record the songs John was using in his work as a music therapist and things just got out of hand. The songs drew on John's work with legendary folk singer Oscar Brand and on the years of rock&roll bands that came before. Bob and Lisa Hammerstein added drums, vocals and world-beat percussion and guest musicians brought more sounds to the mix. The songs are traditional and original, acoustic and electric, folk and rock. While they usually find themselves in the "family music" category, comparisons have been made to certifiable grownup bands like Fairport Convention and Dan Hicks and the Hot Licks.
Suggested tracks: "Blue Chihuahua" is a first-rate Rock&Roll cha-cha that should appeal to fans of Jack Johnson's "Curious George" soundtrack, "Crash, Boom, Bang" is a jug band blues, "Big Hill, Little Hill" is an instrumental based on the 18th cent. Irish tune, "Sheebeg, Sheemore" and "The Halloween Song" gives the folk-rock treatment to a 500-year old melody with some new holiday-themed lyrics.

Loved it right from the get go. Now I don't get out of the car until the song is done. Neither do my kids. Great stuff and great sounds!
