Album Notes

At just nineteen years of age Jay Hansen's musical talents are far beyond his years. Jay began playing guitar at the age of nine on his mother's old nylon string classical guitar. He knew immediately he had found his calling. He quickly learned to play chords and progressions while becoming more familiar with the instrument. Playing guitar eventually became a lifestyle. As he grew more familiar with his talent, Jay began performing in local coffee shops and cafes. After his first public performance he was approached by a respected member of the music industry who said, "You have something that can't be taught and it will make you a star one day".

Jay has become a polished singer/songwriter, having his songs featured on Dawson's Creek, WBAB 102.3 FM, WLIR 92.7 FM and many more. He recently finished recording his major debut album with 2 Time Grammy Award Winning Producer, John Rollo which has already been licensed for use in the upcoming season of MTV REAL WORLD!

Jay will be embarking on a national college tour in support of his major debut album this coming spring.

Jay is proud to endorse Martin guitars...

Jay Hansen... the best you've never heard

TURN, slightly reminiscent of early DMB, is worth more than just a simple listen— buy it, blare it, share it! Hard at times to find, the music is fun, funky, and a great gift; take it from someone who has been gifted you will be handsomely rewarded (thanks Nate). The only thing better than Hansen’s TURN is his follow up album WITHIN THIS PROCESS OF ADAPTATION. The kid is talented beyond his years and I’m sure, if we're lucky, will be around for countless more to come! Keep jamming Jay :)

This album has an intriguing, mature sound. These young artists' talent and dedication shine through every song. The universal lyrics speak to anyone who has experienced desire and love, and touch you in an intimate, personal way. Jays soothing voice captures the emotions of each song and delivers them in a sexy, professional tone. Turn is an album that inspires, and I cant wait to hear more from The Jay Hansen Project.

I love jay and his music. His album TURN is amazing, and his lyrics are soothing and beautiful. I really dont think that i need to say much more than that to prove to you that he is the real thing. If you dont have it, get it. If you have it, blast it on your stereo, and buy another copy for your car. Jay hansen is going to be the next big thing, and i cant wait for that day to come. Keep it up Jay!!!
