Album Notes

With echoes of Neil Young and Wilco in the writing and a voice not so far from Rufus Wainwright, Jibran cultivates his own special crop of songs in the fertile field of singer/songwriter. “Fine Dining” is an ethereal journey that would complement any romantic evening. That and a bottle of your favorite bourbon. Featuring Pam Shales on upright bass and harmony vocals and Cal Neal on drums.

I love it! This is definitely a mood album. Lots of space, lots of reverb, big sound, pretty vocal harmonies, and well played instrumental accompaniment. "Fine Dining," is an exploratory step for this Seattle singer/songwriter. However, to this listener, it sounds like less parts "traditional singer/songwiter" and more parts Mazzy Star or Radiohead. The title track "Fine Dining" is as good as it gets for me. I'm glad we get two versions here, because hey, when I got to the end of the ep that's the song I wanted to hear again! I can't wait to see where Jibran goes next.
