Lyrics inspired by real life, seasoned with the simplicity of youthful energy and timelessness that is rarely seen in today's pop music; that is "Jill and Kate". Jill Pickering and Kate Rapier met at the Contemporary Music Center on Martha's Vineyard, an invitation-only artists' colony that offers masters classes in songwriting, recording, and performing. It was there on Martha's Vineyard, during their residency, they formed "Jill and Kate".
"Jill and Kate" have been inspired by such musicians as Sarah McLachlan, Blues Traveler, Lisa Loeb, and admirers of current acts like John Mayer and Kelly Clarkson. Over the years, they have learned that real songs are about real things. "The best songs are filled with the everyday situations of life. Life is full of joy and pain, and we want to write those kinds of songs that are true and timeless."
It is with that mentality they set out to begin crafting their debut album, "East Coast Bound". The girls recorded "East Coast Bound" on the Island of Martha's Vineyard with a little help from some very talented friends. This ten-song collection is only the beginning of a long and exciting career continually budding in front of them.

JillandKate = Amazing
author: Nic Ryan
Jill and Kate's voices are amazing individually, but together, wow, their harmonies are incredibly beautiful. Plus, their lyrics are not only relatable but also infectious. I can't pick a favourite as it changes everytime i listen to it, but i would definately recommend this and Finding My Own Way to anyone.
