ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
As we played, I felt the culmination of years of life experience come through me, and through the lyrics, in a timeless stream. “Let's leave space, and let each song guide us” was all I had to ask of this magnificent trio. We recorded it all that day.

What you'll hear moves and changes, from the romantic expression of April in Paris to the upbeat tempo of On A Clear Day, the great sadness of losing someone dear in The Meaning of the Blues, to giving your all to life in Throw it Away. Each song, played in the moment, as if we were all one ...

Your purchase of this album helps us remain focused on making more beautiful music for you. Please take a moment to listen to excerpts and buy a copy for your personal music library. Please also visit our web site, venusintransit.info to learn how the album came about, read Eugene Uman's thoughtful liner notes and to contact this fabulous group of musicians.

What's striking about the music on this album is, it's refreshingly real.
And what's unique about the way it's put together is, when you listen, there's a different quality to each song. The textures of the vocals and the music move and change from tune to tune. Together, they tell a story...

Pianist Eugene Uman, with drummer Claire Arenius and bassist Jamie MacDonald, are particularly sensitive players who form the foundation of this spacious, beautiful and spirited music. Produced in a way that allows the integrity of this live recording to come through, the listener is transported to the recording session itself -- a rarity in today's music world.

Venus In Transit
What a beautiful recording~ the intricate yet elegant arrangements give the perfect bed for this sultry voice. You truly give Meaning [to] the Blues, but I guess that's due to All the Things You Are...
