Americana artist Jill King — singer-songwriter, guitarist, producer and label founder — has spent a lifetime preparing for her new album, RAIN ON FIRE (Foundher Records; April 6, 2010), a poignant and profound collection of tunes wrought from times of joy and sorrow that adroitly weave R&B, blues, pop, country and jazz into her folk-rock foundation. Being born and raised in deep-South Arab, Ala., further informs her sound; her early musical start (singing solos in church at 3, guitar playing and songwriting by age 10) makes her a veteran.
