New England multi-instrumentalist, composer, and educator, Jim Allard enthusiastically releases his debut album as leader. The new CD features all original compositions touching on a wide variety of jazz styles. Jim has decades of experience on stage and in the studio as both a saxophone and flute player. He has studied at Berklee College of Music and New England Conservatory with educators such as Joe Viola, Matt Marvuglio, Joe Allard, Alan Weiss, Fred Holovnia, Joe Holovnia, and Dick Odgren. His performances include Idyll Curiosity, Bop and Pop, Percussion Discussion, The Jay Tyer Group, Hey Rim Jeon and Friends, and the Worcester Jazz Orchestra. In addition to his extensive performance career, he is current faculty at the Worcester Academy, Clark University, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and The Joy of Music Program.
The Wait features many renowned musicians. Latin percussion provided by Eguie Castrillo (Tito Puente, Arturo Sandoval, Boston Pops, Michel Camilo, Jennifer Lopez). Drumming contributions by Charles Haynes (Lady Gaga, Stanley Clarke, Patti LaBelle, Roy Hargrove). Piano styling by Hey Rim Jeon (Terri Lynne Carrington, James Genus, Richie Barshay) and Steve Hunt (Allan Holdsworth, Stanley Clarke). Guitar complements of Randy Roos (John Medeski, Mike Stern, Club D’elf). Bass played by Tim Archibald and Baron Browne (Kevin Eubanks, Tiger Okoshi, Mike Stern, Bill Frisell, Jean-Luc Ponty, Billy Cobham, Freddie Hubbard).
