He's got a thing for you...
The follow up to the raunchy, cabaret club sleaze of Handsome Devil is a more considered affair. The melodies are a little more intricate. There's even time for a few more ballads. But - hey - it's still Jim.
I Got A Thing For You has been described by it's author as "music to stalk to" - It's sleazier even than that - nice pared down acoustics, and a rhythm that wraps around you like a feather boa on a $10 Hooker. It's a strong album opener, that pushes right through into "Sing" - the title track and a live favourite. It's simple, easy to sing along to, and will live in your head for a long time.
The rest of the album features a similar sound. Brad Gordon's production and instrumentation are eclectic, complex and always complimentary to Jim's vocals.
The stand out track of the CD is Painkiller - A ballad, with sparse instrumentation. It's romantic, heartfelt, and just a little bit dirty.
The CD will never replace the authentic experience - if ever there was an artist drying out for a live DVD it's Bianco. Until then, this will do!

GREAT album!
A combination of dark, light, heavy and fun. This CD covers it all. Songs of seduction and celebration of life and love. What more can you ask for?

Jim Bianco - Sing
Caught Jim on Craig Ferguson, but didn't know who he was. I couldn't get get him out of my head for days. Finally tracked down the episode he was on, caught the video and ordered two copies - one for me and one for a friend. Loved the whole cd. I almost kept both copies - to have one in the car and one at home. Also thanks for fast delivery!

Sing
I was privileged to see Jim perform in a very intimate setting in Dallas, Texas. Being an old hippie chick all grown up, Jim will brought back to me the Joe Cocker, Leon Russel, John Lennon (early, when he didn't mind screamin' it out) gutsy, pure-hearted beauty of great music, and then slam on the brakes with "I Got a Thing for You", which only an idiot could misunderstand, and you have to play that one three (ok maybe four) times, just for your own little mental, um, visuals. Jim Bianco is extraordinarily talented, and sexy as hell. We've already bought tickets for his next swing through town.

SING
Jim uses a catching set of lyrics to create a song that could and should go on for hours. I imagine him walking around a very large ballroom something the size of the Hollywood Palladium and getting everyone in the entire room singing at the top of their lungs as he makes personal contact with them all. He's that kind of a performer. If you have not witnessed the artistic talent of the Man, your missing out.
The man has tons of talent !!!
Can wait to sing-a-long once again.

LOVE IT!
This album is amazing!! I saw this group live in NYC and enjoyed Brad Gordon's talent immensely. He's the coproducer of the album, from L.A. via New Orleans, and plays piccolo trumpet, piano, clarinet, accordion, etc. ALL of these instruments, as well as the upright string bass (Josef Zimmerman), can be heard throughout the album, giving it SUCH DEPTH! There isn't a single song on this CD that I don't like. If you'd like to hear an album full of love and sensuality with a little taste of New Orleans, get this one.

Some extremely enjoyable listening from “I’ve got a Thing for You” through “Belong”. Jim’s unique style is captivating and his voice is sincere. Sing has a balance of fun and romance, incredible instrumentation and simple acoustic beauty. This CD will hold you over until the next time you see him live and that's definitely something to sing about!!

Devil of an album!
I've relied on Jim's music to get me moving and this album has not let me down. It's got a little bit of everything. He rocks out, jazzes it up, and then turns around and adds some very touching love (or not so much) songs. He is a true talent and I thank the great gods of music for putting him and his music in my path. You have to see him perform his songs live - his shows are among the best I have ever seen.

Sing... I Know You Know the Words
As one of the founders of the Hotel Cafe Tour, Jim is much respected among the indie scene. With such passion in his craft, his lyrics just sashay off the stage. The Police's stalker song "Every Breath You Take" has nothing on Jim's "I've Got a Thing For You".
"Painkiller" tugs at the heart. Sung with such love, you can't help but wonder who the inspiration was for such a beautiful song.
As good as the album is, seeing Jim and his musical partner Brad Gordon live is better. You can't experience the crowd sing-along to the song "Sing" at home. Also, you can't get them jumping off the stage and playing in front of you in a cozy club. Or get that hug or conversation about the weather by sitting at home listening to the CD.
Even though there are plenty of opportunities to see Jim, don't wait until the last minute. Buy those tickets now!
