Imagine if Elton John and Barry White were to have a child. That would be “sick” and “wrong”, but it would describe Jim\'s deep vocal sound and musical style. An Adult Contemporary sound with a \"little\" Jazz and \"70\" Pop/Rock thrown in.

Album Notes

Question: What happens when a musician from the baby-boomer era with two daughters finds himself and his wife in an empty house for the first time in over twenty five years? Answer: He turns one of the bedrooms into a studio and starts recording!

At least that was the answer Jim Carter came to. With both of his daughters out on their own, the oldest in New York working as the stage/house manager at Julliard School of Performing Arts, and his youngest, recently graduated from St. Andrews College in North Carolina, Jim decided that it was time to “go for it” one more time!

So he has just released his first album “Daydreamer”. According to Jim, “It’s as if Barry White and Elton John had a baby! Now that would be “sick” and “wrong”, but it does describe my vocal style and the type of music I’ve chosen for this CD. It is a combination of covers and originals performed with a touch of my own personal \"weirdness\" thrown in.\"

Jim, in his early years, was a successful Singer/Actor/Musician with a long and solid list of performance credits, including a national tour with the Broadway show “Hair”, performances at Radio City Music Hall and as an opening act for names such as Helen Reddy, Red Buttons and Jose Feliciano. Then his wife, now of 32 years, made the big announcement, “Jim, I’m having a baby!” “So I had to make a decision, stay on the road performing or settle down with my wife and raise a family? It was no contest. I wanted to be a full time father to my children”.

Now that didn’t mean not performing anymore, but it did mean moving some where like Orlando, FL and working at places like Walt Disney World and Universal/Orlando. “I made a promise to myself that my career would come second until my girls were grown” Now that day has arrived and Jim is coming back fast and furious!

Jim likes to call his style of music “New Retro”! “Hip-Hop or Alternative are great sounds but they’re not for everybody. I like to think that I was “Hip” before “Hop” was added! So if those styles of music are not your thing, how about giving me a try. Maybe we can be Friends!”
