Quiet your mind and center yourself with Pulse

This CD is as advertised: relaxing! I have listened to it as background music while journaling, and while doing the dishes. I’m fairly certain this is being used in yoga studios and massage therapy centers because of how peaceful it is. After listening to “Pulse,” I find myself feeling more centered, relaxed, and mentally restored. I recommend this to absolutely anyone. There are a few musical elements to “Pulse” that I find relaxing, including the sustained notes that sound like Native American flutes (according to the liner notes these are actually Japanese flutes called Shakuhatchi and Bansuri), quiet drum beats, and slow tempo. Another musical element that promotes good vibes are chakra-tuned crystal bowls. I was pleased to learn, while reading the liner notes, that the tracks were created without drum loops or synthesizers. This strikes me as a rare practice and is a sign of a musician who is truly devoted to being present and channeling his energy with the intention of creating meditative music. I do not often listen to music to fall asleep but I feel it would be perfect for that. This 60 minute CD is composed of 4 fifteen-minute tracks, so you are likely to fall asleep long before you reach the end. I also think mothers, fathers, and anyone with a little too much stress in their life could benefit from listening to this at the end of a long day, or to refocus mid-morning over a cup of tea.
