For the most realistic drum sound you need lots of velocity levels. "Drum Samples Volume 1" sample sets reflect every detail from soft to loud. I've also paid great attention to latency and digital artifacts, every wav file is edited manually and evaluated by human ears. (Includes over 741 drum samples.)

This CD represents a great value. It is certainly what I wanted. The single hit sample section will allow me to load some very useful sounds into my hardware sampler. The loops section had several segments that will also come in pretty handy for compositions. The additional info provided such as player compatibility made the selection process clear. I will definitely look for additional works and CDs from Jim Dooley and this resource.

Jim Dooley's Drum Loop Sounds are fantastics and well recorded.

Jim Dooley has recorded excellent Drum Loop samples for the home recording tech. Easy to use, (especially in Cubase) these samples are top quality for sound and timing. They are very well mixed with various EQs and offer the same loops with or without various effects.
However, I felt it was limited on drum fills. In other words, lots of quality beats but too few fills to choose from to break up those beats in recording.
I gave it 3 stars, but if Jim could create more fills that are consistant with the fantastic sounds he has already created, I would have given it 4 stars. Nevertheless... excellent work Jim!
