Album Notes

Rock & Roll, Jimmie Jack style, is like driving a 66' Mustang Convertible and a 03' Super-Charged Corvette all at once, traditional American Muscle with the finest of modern luxuries. '3 Kords and a Kloud of Dust" is on fire!

Right from the clever little intro of 'If She's The One,' you know you're in for a very fun ride. 'The Sound Of Freedom,' inspired by Jimmie's military pals out there defending our freedom(particularly all the boys out at Hickam AFB in HI), as well as all the victims of 9/11, has a very powerful pull with the gritty ballad 'Not Meant 2 B' following up with some serious rock & roll muscle! 'I Was Wrong' packs a pretty heavy punch too while 'How Do I Explain' and 'I know You're Out There' offer a fresh appearance from Jimmie's raw and unproduced first effort 'Call It Like It Is' to illustrate how it should have been done in the first place. 'Stuck In The Wrong World' also gives more insight to the struggle of changing course in the middle of life, an easy subject for most to understand.

The only thing you won't fully get to appreciate from this latest release is his truly magnetic stage presence. For that, you'll have to catch him & the boys live. Their hi-energy stage show is so much fun to watch you can't help but become a fan.

Start with this CD and decide for yourself. The name says it all and you will not be disappointed! '3 Kords and a Kloud of Dust' is a superbly produced Rock & Roll journey that is sure to melt your tires to the road!
You've been warned!

Watch for the tour coming in the spring of 2003.

author: The Cleveland Scene
Jimmie Jack is the antithesis of the pretty-boy pop vocalist. While the boy/girl themes that predominate here may suggest a softer stereotype, Jack's brawny, gravel-edged pipes are pushed toward overdrive most of the time on 3 Kords. Jack's band -- a high-energy trio consisting of Jack on guitar and lead vocals, Chris Riemenschneider handling drums, and Jim Critzer manning the bass -- complements him well, with skillfully crafted hooks, arena-sized sonics, and song lengths tailored for airplay. As a tunesmith, Jack improves his chances for airplay with a consistent knack for turning ear-grabbing phrases and for keeping the songs varied. Still, his balls-out delivery cries out for a stronger instrumental response than what's found on 3 Kords. It'd be nice to hear the band tear it up a little here and there, but Jack and company appear to be more intent on busting playlists than busting loose. clevescene.com | originally published: January 8, 2003
