Album Notes

“Na Pali” – Original music by Jimmy Limo
Floating peacefully in the warm, tranquil, aqua-blue waters of the mid-Pacific Ocean, is an emerald jewel of indescribable beauty. Born of the volcanic fires of the Hawaiian goddess “Pele”, its soft and lush beauty belies its fiery origins. The oldest and northernmost island of the Hawaiian chain, the Island of Kauai is also known as the “Garden Island”, and hidden far away on it’s northwest coastline, is a mystical and magical place called the “Na Pali Coast”. It’s a place where rainbows play and thousand-foot waterfalls cascade down cliffs over a half-mile high. Long-tailed white seabirds float silently above schools of dolphins, spouting whales and giant sea turtles. There are no roads, no cars, no phone lines, buildings or crowds. Only an occasional hiker on the narrow trail that traverses the lush lava cliffs, a couple intrepid surfers seeking the perfect wave, or a sunbather basking in the golden molten rays of the Hawaiian sun.
So listen to “Na Pali”, close your eyes, smell the sweet salt spray, feel the warm trade winds blowing softly through your hair, watch the beauty of a timeless island sunset, and know in your heart, that finally, you have found paradise.................

Jimmy Limo is a professional guitarist and vocalist whose music has been entertaing crowds for over 35 years. Born and raised in the outskirts of Los Angeles, he grew up listening to the musical legends of the ‘50’s and ‘60’s. His musical inspirations run from the blues of Albert King, Muddy Waters and Eric Clapton, to the jazz of George Benson and Miles Davis, to the classic surf-rock of the Ventures and Jimi Hendrix’s mellow ballads.
After attending the University of Southern California on a full scholarship, he left the smog and crowds in 1972 for the musically inspirational beauty of the Hawaiian Islands. It was there that he developed his unique and melodic guitar style. For nearly twenty years he performed in luxury resorts, restaurants and nightclubs on virtually every island. Besides playing music full-time, he also owned and operated his own guitar shop, “Mauna Kea Music” and opened the popular and wildly successful restaurant/nightclub “the Redwater Cafe” on the Big Island of Hawaii.
In 1990 he left the islands for the burgeoning blues scene in Portland, Oregon, where he played regularly until leaving for Las Vegas in 1999. For over 8 years he played 5 days a week at the Nevada Palace Casino, and played every weekend for over 3 years at the famous (and notorious) Red Rooster with his musical partner Christina Eastman. He now performs 6 days a week at the new Eastside Cannery Casino.
With a repertoire of over 300 songs, Jimmy always has the right song for the right situation. His music is relaxing, enjoyable and above all, ACCESSIBLE. He never plays over his audience’s heads and is always aware of the appropriate volume level.
