Album Notes

The ‘Barrow’ Sound

Jim O’Keeffe is a native of Athy, a small rural town on the banks of the river Barrow in the midlands of Ireland. Playing and writing music for longer than he cares to remember, he is influenced and inspired by such great artists as Rory Gallagher, Robbie Robertson and Eric Clapton. All his songs are guitar orientated, while retaining their ability to engage the listener with approachable lyrics. Jim has development a distinctive sound nurtured on the banks of the slow winding river that he grew up on…the river Barrow and this sound has come to be known as the Barrow Sound…a fusion of moody guitars, string arrangements and haunting vocals.

MUTEDPIE.COM'S REVIEW
It has to be said, it is a complete mystery to me why this man has not been snapped up by any major record companies.

Every track I have ever heard by this man is musical genius! If you were to name drop any comparisons then you could mention Mark Knofler, Eric Clapton, Don Henley and Chris Rea - the list goes on!

checkout "Snakewind" on his album "Factory Town!!"
