Album Notes

It has been many years since Jim Shannon and Mack Goldsbury
crossed paths at the North Texas State School of Music. There they
found an excellent musical environment in the Jazz Clubs in
Dallas/Fort Worth. They had the opportunity to play with some
of the Jazz greats who came through the area. There were also excellent
local musicians who worked in the vibrant music scene that existed
during that time. The professional relationship between Mack and Jim
soon evolved into a life long friendship.

In 2009 Mack suggested that they produce a Duo CD. It was decided
that the music would consist of standards with a blues written by
Jim thrown into the mix. The Duo make the standards sound as if
you are hearing them for the first time. The intimacy gained by live
recording puts Mack and Jim right in your living room. Spontaneous
in the moment renditions of great tunes!
