BIG FOOT reviewed in Vintage Guitar 4/98 - Paul Bechtoldt
A blaze of pure classic fender tele tone...This is straight foward Honky Tonk guitar at its best... With "Deepest Cut" you can hear the sorrow and pain flow from the tears and tone of Weider's 54' tele... For lovers of guitar and especially of vintage sounds we hold so dearly, this CD is a must...This is a celebration of guitar at its Best!
BIG FOOT...
Here is a first class guitarist... Weider squeezes the entire range of the human condition through his guitar in this slow blues (Deepest Cut) that could stop a freight train dead on its tracks... Weider proves that he deserves a promient place on the long list of the finest guitrists on the scene today... Stylistic variety and diversity... exquisite taste and masterful, sensitive style. A real Winner!!!
(The power of subtlety - Frank's Picks).

Rockin' out with Jim, Richard, and Rando
author: Ray G
Jim Weider isa great guitarist and a great musician. One of the things that sets Jim apart from the pack is the balance he maintians as a guitarist... he knows when to "tear up the fretboard", he knows when to lay back & go with "the groove", and he NEVER "overplays." As a result all the songs on Big Foot have an amazing feel. The Honky Tonk Gurus - Randy Ciarlante (drums) and the late Richard Bell (keyboardist extraordinaire) also deserve kudos for their part in creating the "Rockin'" atmosphere on Big Foot. This is a must have for any tue music lover!

I discovered Jim on this web site a couple years ago and have since bought multiple copies of ALL his CDs (for gifts). This album mixes a variety of rock, fabulous guitar work, and melodies that stick in your head. You should start with this CD, then check out Remedy and Percolator.

Raw guitar, Lot's of Variety, Great Production!!!
author: Dave Z of Chaska, MN
My favorite songs are Big Foot... just a rockin' driving song... gets the cowboy boots a tappin' for sure... the beautiful Sliding Home... feels like a guy dreamin' about his loved ones from a faraway... the soulful vocals on I'm In Love, so damn touching... and there's a bunch more... SRV sounding Texas Shuffle... and a lonesome sounding Deepest Cut... really a great CD!!! Jim's definitely gonna leave a big foot print when he's all done... I'd love to hear what experienced guitar players think of this CD... PS - A nice touch is liner notes which list all vintage instruments used...

Fender's Finest
author: Rick S.
Fender should assign #52 for Jim Weider to wear on the back of his jersey. He's the Joe Dimaggio of the 52 Telecaster- precision, grace, versatility and virtuosity. To demonstrate this listen to "Big Foot" and "Deepest Cut" which cuts to the inner soul. Weider-Linden collaborations are great: the bluesy "Life's Like Rain" with a great vocal by Jonell Moser; and my favorite cut, the hauntingly beautiful melody of "Sliding Home." The CD closes with the best cover I've ever heard of "Many Rivers To Cross" - exquisite guitar playing by Jim and a terrific vocal and arrangement.
