THE FUNKY DIVAS OF GOSPEL’S JIM WHITE RELEASES A NEW SOLO CD

The Funky Divas of Gospel’s Jim White is singing a different tune on this brand new CD, actually 14 different tunes in a celebration and salute to the music his mother sang during her 40 year career as a vocalist.

Like Patty Page, Peggy Lee, Rosemary Clooney and so many others, Beverly White was a “girl singer”. From an early age to her untimely death in 1981 at age 54, she sang everything from standards of the 30’s and 40’s and popular songs of the 60’s and 70’s to country music, German, Irish…whatever her audience requested. And she did it so effortlessly.

“From the time I was a little boy I was fascinated with performing and singing”, says White. “Every opportunity I had to watch her perform I did. I watched how audiences responded to her and how she connected with them. She was alive on stage. She lived for it. She loved it. She was good at it. This project is a real departure for me.
