notes

Is he street? Is he club? Is he hate? Is he love? Born and raised in the city of Pittsburgh, PA's Allentown section, J.James came into the world with a verse in his head and a pen in his hand. The music is in his blood. It's in his nature. And there's no mistaking his sound. Growing up heavily exposed to blues, soul, classic rock, and rap, he has blended these styles and created his own original brand of urban music. And even though you won't hear him talking about guns, hustling, or 24's, his music is as real as it gets. Who else can melt a female and melt a mic at the SAME TIME? So don't get it twisted when you hear him sing a smooth chorus--because you can believe that a wicked flow is always nearby. It's a unique mix of styles that came natural to him when he started recording back at the age of 14. "Back then it was just two tape recorders with a built-in mic," explains James. Since then he's rocked plenty of parties and talent shows, and sold hundreds of self-recorded cds. And now, driven by his desire, his dream, and his following, he is ready to release his debut studio album, THIN LINE. Collaborating with one of Pittsburgh's top producers, Chris "Mindbender" Longo, (who has worked with Lil' Flip, MC Eiht, Stat Quo, and currently CRAVE), this album will touch all demographics. Call him an artist on the edge. Maybe even a bit moody. But he calls it like he sees it. J.James doesn't make the rules . . . he just walks along the thin line that we call life.

  • GOOD CD AND BADA** VOICE
    author: CHRISTINA

ITS A GOOD CD MY FAVORITE SONG IS TALK 2 U. HE HAS A BADA** VOICE. SOME OF THE SONGS SOUND LIKE HE'S READING THEM OFF PAPER (NOT ENOUGH FEELING IN THEM) BUT THAT WILL PROBABLY CHANGE AS HE CONTINUES WITH HIS MUSIC. THE CD WAS IN PERFECT CONDITION SO WAS THE CASE. ITS GOOD MUSIC AND I THINK ITS WORTH THE 15 PAID FOR IT

As a person who works close with todays young people and shares in many of their interest, The young adults that I have shared this album with and I think that it is a Great album. My kids have used expressions such as "Off the hook", "Thats Hard", and a few other too explicit for me to say. As for the reviewers who felt that this CD was no good as well as the artist, maybe you should check your bank account because it is quit apprent that many of pennies have been paid for Jesse's CD, and I am guessing not so many for yours and that is your reason for lame put downs on a hard working Artist, Maybe you should just work harder on your own stuff instead of using so much brain power to come up with the lame attempts to pass a negative judgement on someone else or Maybe just Maybe you are just a little scared of the competition. Thats what they say isn't it you only mock that of which you are afraid. Jesse Keep up the awesome work, and don't bother wasting your valuable time with these wannabees. You are going places and we are right behind you. some just a little furter .

  • jesse james is so hot i got third degree burns when he hugged me !!
    author: kristi

jesse james is more than an aspiering artist. he is educated, talented, fun, open minded, free spirited and a hell of a singer/rapper. he isnt just rap, he's mixed so many different styles so that everyone is able to enjoy his gift. jesse has put his heart into everything working up to this album ... un-like other peolpe who are actually "wannabe's" he has accomplished his getting somewhere with his talent. jesses music is in different parts of the u.s. now. i actually personally know this cat and he is amazing, in every way shape and form. yes, there is a song on his album 4 everyone, thats jessie he's not just another white rapper. there's no reason to classify him with eminem b.c. em truly only raps!! so those of you out there hating on what he's doing, you realize your making him famous right ? ... "hate him or love him its still an obsession,"(l.s)!!! so if you got his name in your mouth either spit it out, go on spread the word or take it swallow it. jesse's going places and no matter what you people say bad about him he's got the 412's love !!!! the burgh produces greatness; just like the steelers!!! (even if it took them a while to get it together; it all payed off in the end) ~ i

  • Wannabe stupid rap artist!
    author: Anonymous rappa

This cd sucks...One reviewer was completely right. This guy gets all the attention for nothing when his music is so lame! He is worse than Eminem and is just trying to get attention and is so lucky that he gets girls and fans liking him while he is nothing. Hope this artist goes obsolete! Who would want to pay a penny for this cd?!

  • Wow AWESOME

  • Wannabe rap star....CD SUCKS!
    author: AJ

This artist sucks so bad. If you want to hear a cool independent rap artist from Pittsburgh that is a white rapper checkout Bagcushion at www.soundclick.com/bagcushion. This guy is nothing and who would waste a penny on him!! He is just as bad as Eminem and a wannabe rap artist that sounds lame!

  • Groundbreaking Landmark album!!!
    author: Beard

Like Dylan in 65' or the Sex Pistols in 77' J James has delivered an album that has defined it's time. With a production similar to Phil Spector's "Wall of Sound," and lyrics as brutally honest as Trent Reznor's J James new joint will forever serve as a testamnet to life in George W Bush's America; a time when white boys are forced to pretend like they are black in order to pay for their tribal tattoos and rims for their mid-nineties civics.

  • This is some hot stuff
    author: Kevin Swann

  • i love the CD!
    author: Shannon

  • This guy is going somewhere!
    author: Anonymous

Great Job! It's nice to hear someone from pittsburgh that has so much talent and love for music. It seems like he pours out all of his emotions and thoughts into each song. Keep it up!

  • freakin' awesome
    author: Anonymous

this cd rocks i love it..every song!!!

  • Not cookie cutter rap...
    author: Anonymous

If you listen, you hear rap. If you REALLY listen, you hear a smart, educated, quick-witted, poetic thinker who is blessed with the ability to express himself on paper and bring it to life with the help of an amazing producer. The first track has that "Bombs Over Bagdhad" feel - just get's you pumped, while the last few tracks slow down a bit and make you think! They remind you that you're not listening to a moron. Whether you like hip-hop, rock, r&b, rap or pop... Justin Timberlake, Nelly, Eminem or Bone Thugz n Harmony, you'll dig this CD. There's a song on here for everybody!

  • One word..extraordinary!
    author: Lindsay Nemit

Thin Line is great! The beats, the lyrics, their all awesome. It's nice that someone writes about real life things, not just guns and drugs...It's amazing that he raps about Pittsburgh too!! ....We have Pittsburgh's finest right here!!!!
