Album Notes

Jeremy Johnson grew up on a ranch in Oklahoma helping his grandfather raise and sell cattle. Despite the workman quality of his upbringing, his family put a lot of emphasis on the importance of music. His father sang and played guitar in several bands that toured locally. His grandmother influenced her grandchildren to play an instrument at an early age, and by the age of 10, Jeremy was playing piano and he soon took up the saxophone. His love for all music was evident. However, he held a special place for the music his grandparents listened to. Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, and Bob Wills and The Texas Playboys were always on their home turntable.
As Jeremy got older, he realized that country music, specifically, outlaw and honkytonk styles, were the music he wanted to play for audiences.

After playing this style of music solo for tips at local BBQ joints around central Oklahoma for a few years, Jeremy finally found a group of musicians that shared his love for the outlaw and honkytonk styles of country music, and in the summer of 2006, Jeremy Johnson & The Lonesome Few was born. After honing their skills in clubs around Oklahoma the band has just released their first CD, Sides and Lines, which consists of ten original songs and a Rodney Crowell cover.

I had heard Jeremy sing a solo several weeks ago. When I talked to him, he told me he would have a cd coming out soon. Finally got a copy and I love it. In fact everyone is probably tired of hearing it. Would love to see JJ & the lonsesome few in concert sometime. Maybe someday!! Keep it up Jeremy...your doing great!!
