Album Notes

JJ's Greatest Band on Earth is a travelling circus of superb musicianship and songwriting led by JJ, the twisted vocalist/ringleader who rattles off immature but intellegent and cohesive lyrics off the top of his head.... Really. Over 90% of this album was JJ making up the vocals on the spot on top of maticulously written music making JJ's Greatest Band on Earth stand apart from most other artists.

Furniture Detector, the band's first and final full length album released in 1996 consists of over an hour of music. The 20 tracks draw from a myriad of different styles including alternative, progressive, metal, ska, country and even a cover of "I write the Songs" by Barry Manilow where you keep guessing whether JJ is being totally serious or making a total joke. JJ's voice is superb and falls somewhere between the singing of Mike Patten and Crash Test Dummies. The music is more reminiscent of Faith No More / Mr. Bungle / Primus.

The band no longer exists but "Furniture Detector" captures the band at its best.
