Biography
Jacky Jack White is a legendary songwriter who makes his home in Livingston, AL., who has written songs for recording artists Neal McCoy, Charlie Pride, Ray Stevens and the Carter Sisters.
White has received an ASCAP award for \"If I Didn\'t Love You\", and a NSAI Award for the #1 Southern Gospel song, \"When Men Pray\". In 2005, White was featured on the Grammy nominated CD, \"Clouds\".
He is the host of the nationally syndicated radio show, \"The Sucarnochee Revue\". The \"Revue\" is currently on 32 radio stations in eight states. The show is taped at the University of West Alabama in Livingston where he has resided for over twenty years and is married to the former Jody Tartt who is a native of Livingston, Al. and has three children, Kate, Mary Mac, and Henry.
White\'s work spans the genres of country, blues, rockabilly and gospel. His music is lively, at times forlorn and often humorous, but unquestionably Southern.
White has had songs on the charts as a singer/songwriter since 1985 with over 100 of them recorded by many including: Ray Stevens, Charley Pride, Buddy Jewel, Steve Wariner, Carl Ray, Neal McCoy and Mark Lowery.
In Dec. 2008, Silverwolf plans to release a 3 CD package including Jack’s most popular songs. Jacky Jack White is also a touring artist on the roster of the Alabama State Council of the Arts.
He has produced shows, and performed at Lipscomb University, Motlow College, Harding College, Livingston University, Nashville\'s famous Bluebird Cafe, WSM radio\'s Midnite Opry, and Nashville\'s Douglas Corner Cafe, and the Georgia Public Radio Show, \"Pointing Dog Social Club\". White has also hosted the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame Talent Show in Carthage, Texas.
He has produced CDs for J. Burton Fuller, the Carter Sisters and three self-titled CDs on Silverwolf Records, a prestigious Vermont Folk label. \"The Sucarnochee Revue Presents Music for the New South\" are Jack\'s 2007 CD releases on Silverwolf. \"The Sucarnochee Revue Presents Music for the New South Vol. II\" was released in March 2008.
His most recent album, \"Jacky Jack White: Live\" was released in April 2008 by South City Records. He signed with the Independent record label from the University of Southern Mississippi in January 2008. With White\'s amazing performance and soulful personality being 90% of the reason why he\'s so loved, it\'s extremely easy to understand why \"Live\" is his best work to date.
While Jack is known mostly for his work in the music business, he has been published in Christian magazines such as “Alive Now !!”, “Christian Woman”, and the “Gospel Advocate”. Additionally, Jack has been a Church of Christ minister for 27 years.
