A breath of fresh air filled with the sweet smell of floral and nector...
author: Jeff Whitfield
Some years ago (back when cassette tapes were still being sold) I picked up a sampler cassette that happened to have a single by Jane Kelly Williams. The song was 'Show Me How to Catch a Fish'. I was taken aback by the pleasant use of melodies and how clever the song was lyrically. So I went out and bought the album 'Tapping the Wheel' and almost immediately fell in love with it.
As time went by I wondered why I hadn't seen any other albums release by Jane. On a whim, I did a quick Google search and, to my surprise, found her website and a new album being sold on the CD Baby website. I didn't even think about it...I immediately bought it and am glad I did.
Everything I loved about 'Tapping the Wheel' is certainly evident with this album. Jane's sweet and tender voice candy-coats this album in a way that leaves a smile on your face. Songs like 'Vapor' and 'Swanilda' are a treat with their slow soothing melodies and hopeful lyrics. Other songs like 'Flagpole' and 'It's Spring' are a bit of a departure from 'Tapping the Wheel' and really show how Jane has grown as a songwriter.
All in all, this is a great album and one that I think anyone who loves music would enjoy. It's an excellent blend of folk, adult contemporary, and just damn good songwriting! Highly recommended! :)

This CD is wonderful. The music is fantastic, the lyrics eloquent and touching. Jane's voice and guitar performance is first rate, as is the production and band. Jane is one of my favorite singer-songwriters, really something special. I very highly recommend this excellent release!
