notes

Jeannette Lambert sings jazz versions of classic children's songs. Our setlist includes several vocal duos with bassist Victor Batemen. Performing with Reg Schwager on guitar and Michel Lambert on drums. Using classic melodies, timeless lyrics, lots of swing and lilting lullabyes, we'll have the babies and kids bopping along in no time.

Jeannette Lambert has been singing professionally since she was twelve years old. She records and performs jazz and improvised music internationally. After a futile search for music that mixed jazz sensibilities and great kids' songs, she came to the realization that she was going to have to do it herself. She enlisted the help of the band and her young son JJ, and got to work. Bebop for Babies cds and downloads are available online now. Because kids deserve hip music too!

"Jeannette's clear-as-a-bell vocal style really suits these simple songs and the musicians don't come on too strong. Oh it's bebop alright, but transmitted skillfully and naturally into kid's favourites such as "I've been working on the railroad" and "Old Macdonald". Clearly, these guys know what they're doing, no matter where you drop 'em." IMHO Reviews
