Album Notes

Jennifer Leigh Meyers was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on September 4, 1986. At the age of eighteen months, her parents noticed her music ability as she sang You Are My Sunshine around the house. It wasn't until she was 10 that she made her first public appearance as a singer in the school talent show and won 1st place.

From then on, Jennifer wouldn't be the same. Singing would become her passion. She entered more talent shows and became locally known as a singer. In August of 1997, she won a local contest and was able to sing on WQCK radio. She continued to gain experience and found her own unique way of singing and expressing emotion through her songs.

Jennifer is no stranger to performing in front of large crowds! Some performances have had crowds exceeding 10,000 people, including performances at the Cajun Dome in Lafayette, Louisiana, and the Centroplex in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She has also performed for various LSU sporting events, provided entertainment during the Miss Louisiana, Jr. Miss Louisiana, and Mrs. Louisiana competitions, and performed in Branson, Missouri.

At the Catfish Festival in Winnsboro, Louisiana, in April of 2001, Jennifer met Jimmy Carr, a Nashville songwriter. He noticed a "special thing" in her voice and later became the producer on her first project as a Nashville recording artist. Her first CD, Try and Stop Her, utilized some of Nashville's top studio musicians. The CD was professionally mixed and mastered and has gotten airplay in Louisiana and Mississippi. Also, through an arrangement with Brainchild Music out of Nashville, Tennessee, her CD received airtime in the Netherlands on country music radio. Copies of Try and Stop Her have been sold in Canada, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Italy, England, Japan, and all across the United States.

On December 14, 2002, Jennifer opened for LoneStar, SheDaisy, and Ricky Skaggs at the DreamDay Concert at the UNO Lakefront Arena in New Orleans, Louisiana. The concert benefited St. Jude's, and Jennifer was thrilled to be a part of such a worthy cause.

Jennifer performed at the Montipaloosa Festival in Monticello, Mississippi, on August 9, 2003. The crowd sang along as she performed between Three Dog Night and Molly Hatchet!

The song Try and Stop Her off her CD was featured on ABC Family's TV show, Knock First. Disney then decided to put her song on a compilation CD promoting the show.

Jennifer is now busy working on songs for her next album, which will be of Contemporary Christian music and will include some originals written by Jennifer.
