Album Notes
Jake Latakas Orrall, founding member of The Sex, Be Your Own Pet, JEFF, Lord of the Deep, Letho, Tennessee Black Plague, Skyblazer, Snug (and even more!) shows a side never before seen until this, his solo CD "Romance".

Written entirely in the Icelandic village of Hofn and recorded the following summer at home in Nashville, the album is a stunning collection of bare and somber songs of love, as dark as the Icelandic winter in which they were composed. Says Orrall, "'Romance' is the name of the album because after writing it I became disgusted with the idea of love songs, and never wrote them again. I was staying in a very small town in the east called Hofn where the wind was strong and there was nothing to do. These songs were written from September 2003 to August 2004 and recorded to 4-track in the attic of Hafnarapotek,"

Jake Orrall has been praised to no end for his prolific songwriting, musicianship, and his non-stop pursuit of music in every conceivable style, from the punk of Be Your Own Pet and The Sex, the prog-rock of Skyblazer, the experimental concoctions of Letho and Snug, to his most critically acclaimed band JEFF, all before the age of 21. This CD beautifully captures a few months of solitude and introspectiveness, and is a haunting addition to his already impressive body of work.

Be sure and check out the new CD from JEFF, "Castle Storm", as well as all his other great bands and projects here at CD Baby or at Infinity Cat Recordings (www.infinitycat.com) !
