In much the same fashion as Tobey Maguire personified innocent charm on the big screen with his breakout role in Pleasantville, Johnny Lloyd Rollins is stepping onto 21st century music stages with an aura that many of us have not seen since the days of black and white.
If you close your eyes you may think that you are back listening to an early Sun recording session of Elvis or an old Cavern Club recording of The Beatles. A few minutes pass and you realize that while the nuances exist, his vocal vulnerability and songwriting are distinctively original and refreshingly modern.
This young pop singer/songwriter has the music world buzzing in the Lone Star State of Texas. This past year he has been featured in D Magazine, the Dallas Observer, Modern Luxury Dallas, the Dallas Morning News and was named the number 1 highlight of the IPO Liverpool festival by BBC radio.
His style has quickly gained notoriety as simultaneously evocative of Elvis charisma and rockabilly roots, of McCartneys boyish charm, melodic sensibility and Beatles harmonies, and the honest storytelling of Cash. As industry insiders from music writers to A & R reps have quickly discovered, Rollins is poised to bring back to music what matters most...a simple song.

a CAREER ARTIST in the making - killer debut, killer live show with band called
author: jeremy aka derringer aka derjer
This does what a debut should do, announces a major talent who pulls from many classic influences and yet balls them up into something fresh and modern. The album has WIDE appeal in the way that Norah Jones or M. Ward or some of the other new singer/songwriters on the scene are throwing back to bygone eras without sounding date and copycats. This is an artist that can evolve with each new album and grow in the way The Beach Boys or The Beatles or Cash grew with each album...
To put it simply, this guy is a STAR! I swear by that statement. He is the first artist that I would lay my musical career on the line for. I would fight for him in any meeting room at any label. The guy is a hit writing machine. The guy is style to the "t". The guy knows how to keep interviews fun, fresh, and interesting. The guy has a band that is top quality and puts on one helluva live show that leaves any unbeliever speechless after it's over. He's been called the best thing since Elvis, since McCartney, since Cash, and has even been labeled "AMERICA'S ANSWER TO OASIS". He has stolen the spotlight at the International Pop Overthrow Festival. Mark my words, this guy is a STAR! You meet him, you hear him, you see him live and YOU JUST KNOW!

Outstanding talent - great live performer - brilliant album.
author: Darkhorse Radio
The opening song - The Morning After - gets off to a rocking start, 50s/60s style. The title track is a beautiful ballad. Johnny is equally comfortable with both styles and he writes songs with melody. You'll be singing these to yourself when washing the car, hoovering the stairs or working out in the gymn. It's a great album and a Darkhorse Radio favourite.
