Jordan Lee
In the mid-1960's, South Carolina native Jordan Lee, a white guitar player playing in an all black band, (back in a time when that was considered not politically correct)...rocked the clubs from the hills of Spartanburg to the famous Carolina coast known as the Grand Strand. Myrtle Beach in particular continues as a breeding ground for the most famous Beach Music bands of all time. From these connections, Lee formed a sound and style of playing blues guitar...
By the early 1970's, legendary R&B artists such as Eddie (Knock On Wood) Floyd and Gary US Bonds were among the many register of names Lee performed on stage with...(black audiences would often give Lee stirring ovations after a blistering guitar rendition of Stormy Monday Blues followed by the The Muddy Water Blues - a signature Jordan Lee Original included in this collection...
As for style, Lee's unique combination of guitar bends, standard blues scales including his signature mandolin-like guitar sound is firmly established. That's exactly the kind of passionate guitar playing you'll hear on this latest album...a guitar blues sound that can be felt as much as heard.
The emotion of Lee's music is poured on in full force on this first-time ever all-blues guitar collection, a collection 30 years in the making...and long overdue!
Check it out.
