“WITH FRIENDS” is the debut jazz CD of vocalist Jean Mancini Gough, a versatile songstress with an engaging and impeccable singing style. Jean possesses the ability to tell the stories of her songs with a clear, rich voice combined with flawless diction and attention to a beautifully executed vocal line. Her warm style is a unique blend reflecting her innate, sultry feel for the genre and the controlled precision of the classically trained voice. Along with her musician friends, drummer Ed Conley, sax/flute player Marty Gilman, bassist Tom Grandprey, trumpeter Pete Martin, vibe player Tom Phelan, and pianist Morgan Scott, Jean presents a varied array of selections from heartfelt ballads to spirited swing tunes in an embracing delivery that magnetically draws the listener in.

Jean Mancini Gough is a versatile and experienced vocalist from New England. She has appeared extensively as a jazz stylist, classical recitalist, and sacred repertoire soloist and has presented numerous programs in the New England area, Philadelphia and New York City. Holding Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in Vocal Performance/Music Education, her training and years of experience have made her a knowledgeable and sensitive performer, equally comfortable in various styles.

In the jazz world, Jean has studied with veteran singers Sheila Jordan, Jay Clayton, and faculty at Berklee College of Music and the Vermont Jazz Center. Jean regularly appears with her jazz ensemble at various venues in the New England area.
