Album Notes

As a child the image of Christmas was “La Castellana”, a main avenue in Madrid, decorated with lights and metal North Stars hanging from every lamp post. The Christmas tree of lights on the main wall of “El Corte Ingles” (the “Macy’s” of Spain) flashing intermittently to the sound of traffic. The long elaborate Nativity scenes along “La Plaza Mayor”. The smell of churros and hot chocolate as the grown ups bundled up and walked from store to store, carrying two or three bags full of food and gifts, in preparation for the big night. Santa was coming bringing me presents.... And in a couple more weeks the Three Kings would do the same.

But today Christmas has a different meaning. It is a melancholy time of reflection. It is the journey from advent to the birth of hope. Jesus is born. For me music expresses this path better than anything. The dark always comes before the light and thanks to the darkness the light shines brighter than ever. That is hope! And for me that is Christmas.

Enjoy the CD

Great Christmas Tunes
author: Jenni
Javi's music is always a pleasure to listen to, and Navidad is no exception. It served as background music during our family dinner on Christmas Eve, and everyone commented on how much they loved it. A great blend of traditional and original songs, in English and Spanish, and a great way to commemorate the holidays.
