ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Hailing from the streets of Atlanta, Georgia, John Michael Rose, 25, has been preaching the gospel of the Blues to people from all walks of life for the past ten years. "I've made it a personal mission to bring the Blues back to a broader audience like they were in the early 20th century. I know I'm not perfect, and some people won't be hooked by the same things that hooked me, like the intro to Mannish Boy or Howlin' Wolf's conviction in Spoonful, but the gospel of the Blues is universal. Everyone has had the Blues and can relate to its emotion - the pain, the anger, the passion, the hope and can receive the salvation it provides. Some say the Blues is dead, but just as the Blues changed and was revived when it went from Mississippi to Chicago and when the Brits, Zeppelin and Cream blew us away with British Blues, it is very much alive and just ready for another revolution . In the end, the Blues never loses its roots, but just changes with time. I think it's time for a revival and I'm here to lead just that."
It is unquestionable that John Michael Rose is one of the greatest performers of our time. In both his originals and renditions of Blues standards, you can hear his fire and passion for Roots music pour from every ounce of his being. From his old voice to his soulful fingertips, John epitomizes the power of musical expression. If you have not been cleansed by the purity of John Michael's music, then come forward and wade in the river of Blues For the water is fine.

i am proud to call john michael rose my nephew. i have changed his diapers and watched him grow into the man he is today. what a talent. self taught, he brings to the music world not only a new face and talent, but an old soul. he could certainly play with the best in new orleans or anywhere else in the world when it comes to the blues. again, i am so proud he is my nephew.

Arresting Debut !!!
The power of expression and emotion that John puts into his songs is his battle cry. There's just no escaping his talent, and is clearly a young artist to watch. A great first effort all around.
