Album Notes

All of the influences of my life come together here. The people I love, the musicians I'm inspired by, the mountain views I breath in, the melodies in the air. The musicians featured make up two contra dance bands, Far Horizons, a string band with a southern feel, (cuts 3, 5, 8) and Fly By Night, with the classic New England dance band lineup of piano, fiddles, and flute (cuts 1, 4, 10). In addition, cuts 7 and 11 feature my neighbor, mentor, and friend, Billy Jackson, who gifts me with tunes to learn on the cello. Also appearing: two of my favorite musicians, my own Pearl and Vergil, who grew up seeing the same lovely view.
